A few things I’m proud of…

🏝️Taking a week long vacation with family
🪧 M+M on a sign
🛠️ Wrapping up several projects and feeling proud of the end result
💯 Getting back to long walks without my phone

✨ Smaller kitchen? Tighter budget?

Good news 📣 You can absolutely still transform your kitchen

We call this one Klarissa’s Kitchen and it’s one of my favorite transformations 👏

Here’s why…

✨ We saved $$ by keeping the existing appliances.
🛠️ Used an economical cabinet line but designed the layout strategically to feel high-end
✅ The countertops and floor tile were budget-friendly choices.
✨ We splurged on an expensive backsplash tile for added texture and color
📣 Used our favorite hood vent build for stunning and minimal look
💡 Mixed in multiple textural light fixtures (metals, fabrics, and Capiz glass)

The secret isn’t spending more—it’s knowing where to save and where to invest. A well-designed kitchen can look luxurious at almost any budget 🏡✨

As a designer—and a mom of two kiddos myself—I love working with families. One of the biggest misconceptions is that you have to wait until your kids are older to have a beautiful home. You don’t.

The goal is never perfection. It’s creating spaces that function well for your family while still feeling thoughtful and welcoming. The best homes are the ones that are meant to be lived in.

A few of my favorite strategies for designing with young kids in mind:
✨ Family-friendly furniture (think round coffee tables instead of sharp corners)
✨ Prioritize investments that will last, like solid wood furniture, quality lighting, and durable selections
✨ Wipeable paint finishes
✨ Minimal, intentional, and sentimental decor
✨ Smart organization with baskets and hidden storage
✨ Designated spaces for kids to play and be creative

You can have a home that feels elevated without making every room feel like it’s centered around kids.

And of course, embracing the season you’re in; the artwork on the fridge, little shoes by the door, and the monster trucks in the living room are all part of a home that’s well loved.

Beautiful and functional can absolutely coexist—it just takes the right design strategy.

What if your bathroom could go from before to after in just a matter of weeks? ✨

One of our favorite parts of this project? Hearing our clients say, “We didn’t realize how much we’d love having a new bathroom.” 🤍

With a quick timeline, we got clear on the design vision, budget, and construction priorities from the start. From there, we carefully selected finishes that balanced both beauty and function to bring the space to life.

We also worked closely with the contractor every step of the way—communicating the design plans, setting clear expectations, and solving challenges as they came up. The result? A beautiful primary bathroom transformation completed in just a few weeks, with the finishing design touches bringing it all together. 🏡

Our favorite details:
💙 Blue and white color palette
🪟 Painted blue plantation shutters
🪞 Grasscloth mirrors
🏮 Outdoor lantern sconces
🌿 Functional decor that looks beautiful too

Kitchen transformation 💯

New layout, appliances, cabinets, countertops, hardware, lighting, plumbing fixtures…Kitchen renovations can transform your living space or can break your spirit 😅

Having the right support is key.
Having a clear vision for your dream transformation.
Turning that into a detailed design plan. Having all of your material ordered/in hand before demo.
Having the background knowledge and trusted contractors in place to execute the job correctly.

We took this kitchen from dark/dingy to bright/textural and overall beautiful experience.

Design decisions we helped guide in this project that made a big impact:
-beige instead of white cabinets
-authentic Zellige backsplash
-unique/strategic cabinet hardware
-show stopper lighting
-mixing in walnut wood tones

What if you stopped daydreaming about your kitchen transformation and took a step to make it happen?

It all starts with a chat ☎️

Let’s talk through our process and what your renovation process would look like for you ✨

Can you believe this is the same bathroom? 👀

Full renovation of a builder grade primary bath that was not functioning and frankly falling apart just a few years after being built 👎

The clients came to us with a wishlist:
☕️ Coffee bar
🪵 Fireplace
🛁 Jetted tub
🧴Storage
🚿 Shower sprayers

We were able to figure out a layout that worked without major reconfiguration of plumbing and checked all the boxes (and a few extras)

Some of our favorite details you might have missed…

🪟Transome above the water closet
🚰 Bullnose/arched edge vanity backsplash
🚿 Arched shower entrance with his/hers shower heads
🧊 Two hidden fridges
☕️ Cabinet pocket doors to hide coffee machines

And so many more little details - this primary bath was custom from top to bottom!

Renovations this big so take time and investment but the full transformation makes it a space you never want to leave (or even need to).

This project was one of a kind and we love the results 💯

Client projects are so much more than design decisions.

They’re about understanding who someone is, how they live, what they dream about, what isn’t working, and how to create a home that supports all of it—without blowing the budget.

✨ Every project starts with listening.

It’s about:

* 🏡 Understanding how a family actually uses their home
* 💭 Learning what they love (and what they don’t)
* 🎯 Identifying what’s not working and why
* 💰 Finding creative solutions that respect the budget
* ❤️ Creating spaces that feel personal, comfortable, and truly theirs

Because great design isn’t just about making a home look better—it’s about making life feel better.

These clients reached out shortly after purchasing this country home on several acres. It was a dream property, but the house came with some questionable design choices and, if we’re being honest, some bad vibes we were ready to leave behind.

Instead of jumping straight into a major renovation, we looked at the home as a whole. What could paint change? What furniture and decor were working against the space? What needed to go? What actually had potential with the right refresh?

The result? A huge transformation without changing the majority of the home’s bones.

One of the biggest concerns these clients shared was that they were worried the home would always feel like it belonged to the previous owners. Now, they walk through the door and it feels completely theirs. They love being home, and they love sharing it with family and friends.

And honestly, that’s always the goal. Not just a beautiful home—but a home that feels like you.

Good news: Your home doesn’t have to stay feeling basic builder grade✨

For this project we:
🔨 Updated the pillars to give them more of a craftsman feel
✅ Added grasscloth wallpaper for texture and warmth
🎨 Used our favorite paint strategies to shift the feeling of the home while staying cohesive
💡 Swapped all the lighting for statement pieces that make a big visual impact
🛋️ Selected live-in ready furniture that feels comfortable, layered, and homey

Proof that the right details can completely change how a home feels 🙌

I wanted my cabinets to feel like old pieces of furniture 🪑

I went back and forth on the cabinetry color for so long - I wanted the white oak look for something different than what was there before but in design I’ve learned to listen to my gut and generally regret it when I don’t.

My condo was built in the 90’s and has lots of darker wood tones and heck no I’m not painting all of the wood white

With two chaotic toddlers, my home will never feel pristine and honestly I don’t want it to.

I wanted my cabinets to feel like the antique pieces that have been passed down in my family while adding lots of texture and natural materials with the overall feel of the kitchen to be warm, lived-in, and a little funky

I went with real terracotta tiles, 1/2 grout lines, and marble countertops so talk to me a year from now about those life choices go 😅

In the meantime, loving how everything is coming together and pulling together the finishing touches: backsplash, stucco hood, and paint 🙌

After months of designing and planning with , , and Salty Dog Builders, we can’t wait to see this show-stopper kitchen and butlers pantry come to life ✨

As part of the Tideland Haven home plan, this kitchen is incredibly unique being completely supported/surrounded by wood beams. Working with a team was crucial to get all of the details just right for both aesthetics and structure.

Standby, this beauty will be one of a kind!
