Pick up your pencils and prepare to get to mark-makin’ at this Thursday’s Live Figure Drawing session! Join us at Oblivion Cinema & Arts this Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 6:30 P.M. for another round of costumed live figure drawing. Whether you’re a long time attendee or looking for a new way to learn the art of drawing people, all are welcome at this guided session hosted with a clothed model. This gathering is recommended for ages 16+ (for patience, not content—younger artists that are comfortable locking in are welcome) and is run on a pay-what-you-can basis. Simply make an offer for our and our model’s time and support before or after the event if you are able and wanting. We hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Saturday at Oblivion Cinema & Arts for our biweekly Oil Painting with Bennett Ritchie workshop! We’ll be continuing our brief intermission today to reset, refresh, and prep for a busy week ahead. We will open at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday through Friday this week to hold space for our morning-time Young Creatives Creature Camp. We will resume our standard operation hours on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 10:00 A.M.!

Looking at the days ahead, we’ll start our week off with another pop-up workshop with Sierra from Act 3 Pottery (Denise Dubois & Sierra Adams) on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. On Wednesday, June 17, 2026 we’ll gather for our free, weekly B.Y.O. Supplies Sketch Club from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. ahead of our Young Creatives Printmaking Session at 6:00 P.M.. Join Bennett once again on Thursday, June 18, 2026 for another Pay-What-You-Can Live Figure Drawing Session or visit Kate at a studio swap pop-up at Act 3 Pottery for another round of Watercolor for Beginners, featuring birds! For Saturday, June 20, 2026, we’ll break out canvases and boards for our Disco Ball Paint & Sip in Oblivion and Craft & Craft at Roscoe’s Coffee Bar & Tap Room (Roscoe’s Coffee Bar & Tap Room).

Pair your brush with your favorite brew at our June Paint & Sip gathering! We’ll sketch the canvas, you’ll pick the colors, and together we’ll explore color theory to paint monochromatic disco balls! This two hour workshop is priced at $25 per patron and includes all materials, instruction, and a voucher for a $7 drink credit at Roscoe’s Coffee Bar & Tap Room (Roscoe’s Coffee Bar & Tap Room)*. Looking for summer opportunities for your little artist to nurture their big imagination? Registration is now open for our Lily & The Littles Making Miniatures Camp! We are excited to announce Lily’s presence at Oblivion Cinema & Arts for this weeklong program. Under Lily’s guidance, artists will explore cardboard construction techniques, recycled materials and paper pulp clay to plan and create a miniature shadowbox scene. Artists will look at examples of miniatures in history, explore cardboard building techniques, complete authorizations for cardboard cutting machine, hot glue and other tools, plan and build a miniature scene, and write an artist statement and share work

This camp is designed for students ages 7-10 and will run from 8:30 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, July 6-10, 2026; for the duration of camp, we will temporarily close our studio to give participants open access to our space This camp is priced on a sliding scale basis of $60, $75, or $90 per patron; all tiers include the same instruction and material cost but varies to facilitate budget accommodation; tiers can be mixed and matched for sibling sets or individual participants. As we near the mid-point of June, we’re just getting started at Oblivion Cinema & Arts! From familiar favorites like Live Figure Drawing and B.Y.O. Supplies Sketch Club to new workshops like our Disco Ball Paint & Sip and Craft & Craft Barn Quilt Painting at Roscoe’s (Roscoe’s Coffee Bar & Tap Room), there’s opportunities abound for artists and creatives of all ages, skill levels, and interest!

We’ll see some changes in the space next week as we kick-off for our sold out Creature Camp. To provide our participants with ample space and freedom, we will close our studio in the morning Monday, June 15, 2026 through Friday June, 19, 2026 before opening for standard operations at 12:30 P.M. Tuesday through Friday; we will return to our full day schedule at 10:00 A.M. on Satuday, June 20, 2026 and open at 10:00 A.M. We thank our patrons for their patience and support in helping us to create a calm, safe space for our camp attendees!

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Saturday for the opening of Pk. Kanto’s (Ronnie Smith) Corner Solo Show! Swing by Oblivion anytime during our standard shop, studio, and space hours to explore the show for yourself. Kanto’s full curation will remain on display for one more week.
