Grommet’s Cutlery & Gifts began in 1999 with Randall Grommet selling knives at swap meets and eventually became a full-service cutlery shop. During the time he spent selling knives at swap meets, he was introduced to the sword market at renaissance faires. Randall began selling swords and knives at faires as Fireblood Arms, with Randall and his crew setting up a 900 square foot pavilion. Fireblood
Arms grew as Randall and the crew traveled to faires all over California, Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon. But, faire season ends in late October and begins again around March so he went looking for somewhere to sell in the meantime. With faire season over, Randall opened a kiosk in San Diego at the Mission Valley Mall for the Christmas season in 2002. In 2003, he opened an in line store at the Westminster Mall. During the 2004 Christmas season Fireblood Arms opened two in line stores – one in the Moreno Valley Mall and one in Montclair Plaza. And that is when the crew got spoiled by being able to turn a key and go home instead of packing 8,000 pounds of product, gear, and the pavilion before driving several hours to get home. At the end of that Christmas season the Moreno Valley store stayed open, and became Grommet Collectibles. The crew has spent the last decade putting the right product in the right hands, working with military and law enforcement personnel, first responders, collectors, reenactors, martial artists, movie makers, culinary professionals, and many others. In March of 2014, Grommet Collectibles moved to its newest location in the mall and became Grommet’s Cutlery & Gifts. The store now carries 2500 square feet of kitchen cutlery & tools, pocket knives, survival and tactical knives, accessories and garb. The store is an official dealer for major brands such as Benchmade, Kershaw, Zero Tolerance, TOPS Knives, Zippo, Shun, Messermeister, Victorinox and more!
