Hello!
BUSY upholstery shop looking for for a Shop Assistant for this busy summer, with the option to continue beyond the summer.
I need help with the disassembly of furniture (removing staples, removing fabric, etc), helping with clean up, organizing of supplies and jobs. Also helping to load and unload furniture from vehicles, occasional pick up or delivery of client furniture. This is a very physical job. Must be able to lift upward of 40-50 #. My client just sent me these pics of the completed banquette in their beautiful home. She came into my shop with a piece of the backrest and requested I build her up some banked-edge seat cushions. 90”and the other 72”. Client provided a cream colored Berber fabric. 3rd picture is the long side cushion complete and waiting to be installed in my shop. So excited that they turned out exactly as the client pictured!

I was tasked to replace these dry, brittle leather seats with new ones. To reinforce and stabilize the seats, I attached some stiff, heavy upholstery fabric to the underside with leather glue. Then hand-stitched the seats onto the frame with leather cording. I am pleased with the way they turned out and confident they will hold up well!

A new multi-vendor shopping experience has opened in Roanoke! Old Coil Factory Vintage Shoppes on N Main St downtown Roanoke. Myself and a friend are splitting booth #3. I will have a (hopefully) continuous string of custom chairs, and ottomans along with handmade baby items and decor. Come on down and check out booth #3 and the other 32 vendors. There are 2 custom upholstered pieces In our booth currently. A super cute floral wooden rocking chair. Also a “Pagoda”style chair, upholstered In a Chinoiserie style linen, In muted green, blues and off -white.

She is all done and going home this afternoon! Completely refinished, base and back springs retied, and built back out. Reupholstered in a beautiful floral jaquard fabric. A legacy piece for generations to come!
