It is funny how even the simple things take time and great care. After cutting out this pattern for about 3 hours, the last thing I wanted to do was break off a little piece removing the tape. But the final reveal is so worth it.

Recently I made a larger piece than I am used too (4’ x 2.5’). A map of the US complete with state outlines. Most of it was able to be cut with a jigsaw, but I did have to cut the finer details on the scroll saw. I felt very weird maneuvering that large of a piece on the small saw 😂. It turned out great.

I thought I would provide everyone a little more detail on what goes into making a project... Some projects are more involved than others, but each one I enjoy the process. This project was not a commissioned piece; I was just making it for fun, so it allowed me to play with the design as I went. Only the first step is the actual cutting of the design. The next steps involve layering, staining, sanding (lots of sanding),and finishing. Each step building more and more character to the piece. In total, approx 10 days from start to finish. I hope you like it.
