Towne Antiques By appointment only Towne Antiques & Custom Furniture has been New England's largest dealer of high-end mahogany furniture since 1970.

The doors opened in the fall of that year in a landmark storefront in Brookline. The business grew to fill over 12,000 square feet on three floors of the building. But the Internet has made 'virtual' showrooms a reality. The Brookline store is now part of our history and operations have moved to Rochester, NH. We are moving to reflect the radical changes taking place in the modern antiques busines

This is a solid mahogany dining table made by one of the best cabinet makers in Boston MA. This table has it all a sold mahogany ( highly figured) table with a satin wood band. The three solid mahogany pedestals with a burled walnut veneers to extenuate the lyre shape with brass rods to mimic the strings of an instrument ending with cast brass feet with brass wheels The table has two leaves at 18.5" total table is 109". The table has two table clips as well a a full sets of pads.

This is an amazing console table made by the incredible cabinet shop of Joseph Gerte of Boston. The top is made of solid mahogany with a rosewood banding. The apron is veneered with burled walnut also having three solid mahogany carved feathers The three feathers appear to go into a heavily carved basket upholding the basket are three reeded legs ending with solid brass feet.

These are a beautiful pair of twin beds made my Berkey and Gay. The French inspired french style. The beds are made of a number of woods ,cherry walnut burled walnut. The inlay work is spectacular very nice beading on the edges of each be with carvings wheat. These bed will take a standard box spring and mattress.

This is a very unusual small sideboard made by Baker furniture Co.. The sideboard is made of mahogany and crotch mahogany drawer fronts. There are two small cubbies behind tambour doors. There are also two silver drawers each drawers has string inlays and well as inlays down the legsThe height of the upper level is 41" and the lower height is 35".

This is a beautiful bench made mahogany sideboard. It has very nice inlays on the top as well as each drawer and cabinet doors. each drawer front and well as the door fronts are done in crotch mahogany the top drawer has a felt lined for silver. Just got this Empire styled solid mahogany sewing stand. The bas has heavily carved feet and there are three working drawers with a rope edge carved top.The top also has two drop leaves. The construction indicates that this is a newer piece.

These are a good set of 8 solid mahogany dining chairs made of solid mahogany Attributed to Old Colony of Boston. The se consisted of 2 Arm chairs and 6 side chairs, they are upholstered in a navy blue fabric with a pin dot. The side chairs are carved with a wonderful pinwheel inlay. Very stunning in person. One of the arm chairs has been repaired. The arm chairs a slightly larger H-38" W-24.5" D-20.5". The last 2 pictures are from Old Colony's catalog.

This is an incredible tall 2 piece solid mahogany secretary made by Irving and Casson. The upper case has unusual arched glass all cut to size four adjustable shelves the crown does come off with a crotch mahogany center medallion and 4 solid mahogany finials. The base is also solid mahogany with crotch mahogany on the lid. Open the lid to expose curly sold maple interior with drawers and two pull outs for pens. The drawer fronts are also crotch mahogany with inlay and sold brass pulls. There are two key s for the lid and top drawer. Beautiful in person.
