She isn't too sure about her new digs 👀 but she now has a 40 gallon bioactive to call her own🤩🌿

In this build, I've included :
•An established isopod and springtail colony, and I eventually added in additional springtails and Dwarf Purple Isopods!
•Reptisoil in addition to the existing soil
•🌱 Heartleaf Philodendron (check out our Petal Pot in action!) Purple Heart Tradescantia, Marnier's and Flaming Katy Kalanchoe, a variety of other succulent cuttings, a mini Monstera, Snake laurentii, Peperomia obtusifolia, and a Syngonium 🌱😮‍💨
•Leaf litter and seed pods from TNT Reptile!

Quasi is my Leopard Gecko that I adopted in 2023 from Leckgo's Lair! 🦎 I am Quasi's 4th home (you read that right! Well, technically the 3rd if you don't count Leckgo's rescue.) Quasi was a rescue intake twice for Sheryl. On one of the intakes, Quasi had unfortunately dropped her tail. We are unsure of the circumstances as to why she dropped it, but she did an AMAZING job aiding Quasi with her tail regrowth, and I have to say, she has the most gorgeous regenerated gecko tail I've ever seen!

Because of Quasi's unknown history, this makes her more reserved, stand-offish, and she prefers to be a hands-off kind of girl. (Anything for the tiny dinosaurs that run my life 🥰)

Thank you to WNY Reptiles for hosting another awesome monthly expo yesterday! 🦎 The amount of effort that goes into pulling off these shows is not a small feat, but the WNY Reptile Crew and everyone involved made the day run flawlessly 🤩 Such a great community with amazing, knowledgeable, hard-working enthusiasts who have a passion for the misunderstood 🐍🕷️

A special shout-out to Vets Gecks Geckos & Things LLC and TNT Reptile for being great neighbors throughout the show! Check out the keychain Kylie-Jo with Vets Gecks made during the show! She also made one for Tara with TNT. It really made both of our day💖

I can't wait to attend again 🐌🐟🪷 See you next time!

The Ohio Spiderwort is a NY perennial that is actually part of the Tradescantia family! Tradescantia ohiensis - how cool is that?!

Native to Eastern and Central North America, this stunning, hardy, self-seeding plant is the perfect flower to keep the bees and butterflies coming! 🐝🦋 They are very adaptable and can grow in a wide variety of light, soil, and anything from a loamy to rocky garden. The purple blooms open during the day, and close up as midday approaches. This allows for the pollinators to access the flower by day, while protecting its delicate petals from intense heat and rain during the afternoon. Pretty neat!

The coolest part? Not only are the flowers edible in salads 🥗, and the stalks can be roasted like asparagus; inside the leaves you'll find a sticky sap called Mucilage! This is a soluble fiber naturally found in some plants that can aid in digestive health, swelling, itching (perfect for those pesky mosquito bites 🦟) and much more!

Ohio Spiderwort (Tradescantia ohiensis) - Very demure, very versatile and is for sure a show-stopper in any garden. 🪴
