Good morning friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend❤️ If you've been following my page for any length of time, you know I love cat trinkets! I got to do a little treasure hunting over the weekend and stumbled upon a woman who had been selling her friends cat collection over the years to help her friends family pay down her debt when the collector passed. The lady was telling me that once upon a time the collector had over 800 pieces of cat decor!!! She had them all numbered on little stickers. I couldn't imagine being able to have my pick of over 800 pieces lol. I think my brain would probably fry and my husband would call for an intervention on my behalf 🤣 She only had a small table with what was left and I grabbed quite a few pieces.
My favorites are the little Siamese trinket box, which quickly found a home on my trinket shelf, the little sleeping cream and gold Lenox kitty, and the 3 clear lead crystal Avon cats! I also found this large heavy hand painted textured cat tile which is so beautifully detailed! I know collectors plates can be a hard seller, but I couldn't leave behind these adorable cat plates either haha. When I was buying all of this, it made me think of B's Vintage Revival cat trinket and decor collection! She has one of the most epic collections I've ever seen 😻 You'll have to check out her page to see it! I know some of you are cat lovers too, so tell me, which of these cuties is your favorite?! I'll be adding these to my booth #75 in the back building of The Plow at Handsmill sometime this week ❤️ I hope everyone has a marvelous Monday!!!

Good Sunday morning everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend 😊 I was talking to my hubby a couple days ago about how crazy it is that this has been the first hurricane season in over 100 years that didn't produce a hurricane in the Atlantic. We moved from Florida 10 years ago and even here in SC we have had remnants of a hurricane or tropical storm every year since we moved outside of this year. I count it as a huge blessing and I'm sure all the states that are used to dealing with them are feeling a weight lifted this year too❤️ I also know that not all storms are physical within our lives. Some can be financial, emotional, mental, and so forth. I just wanted to gently remind you that no matter the storm you're facing, you have a loving God who walks beside you through all of it. Sometimes you just have to reach out your hand and let Him take hold and squeeze Him a little tighter. I hope you all have a beautiful and blessed Sunday!!!😊

Woohoo, it's Friday people!!! I don't know about you, but I felt like this week seemed to go by a bit slow. My hubby and I are attending a marriage conference at church this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it!❤️ Do you have any big weekend plans?! Hopefully no matter what you do, you'll find some time for fun and relaxation!

Yesterday I mentioned that I have a few small collections of things throughout our home. One thing I always gravitate to first when out sourcing is the book section! I love to collect vintage and antique books!!! I have them in almost every room of our house (outside of the laundry room and bathrooms lol). For one they make great risers for decor vignettes, but they are also so beautiful and add warmth and history into your home! A lot of antique books have these amazing decled edged pages and the covers and spines are beautifully aged and worn from years of reading wear.

I've given this tip before, but I'll share it again. Always check the inside pages thoroughly, especially at the spine to make sure you're not bringing home any unwanted bugs! Also check for mold and mildew since you won't be able to get that off safely without completely ruining the book. You can wipe most book covers down gently with a disinfectant, but just don't oversaturate or rub too hard because you can damage the leather, the wording on the covers, etc. Also another trick to help kill anything that could be on the books like dust mites and other hidden things is to put your book in a Ziploc bag and put it in the freezer for a day. Even newer used books you should be checking pages and cleaning to not bring germs into your home! I hope you enjoy this small sneak peek into my book collection which I have a lot more, but just highlighted my favorites 😊 If you're looking to add beautiful vintage/antique books into your home, definitely check out my booth #75 in the back building of The Plow at Handsmill! I have a pretty large collection to shop in there❤️ Have a beautiful and blessed day and weekend everybody!!!

Happy Thursday friends! A couple people have recently asked me if I collect anything. I'm definitely a collector of vintage and antique treasures, but I don't really collect one main thing or hunt for specific pieces or makers. So when I answer that question, I mention I collect vintage/antique silver plated or sterling serving ware and flat ware. I have some of my favorites tucked in a small pitcher in my kitchen, but also have quite the collection in our drawer that we use. I especially love teeny tiny spoons and forks. Lol, don't ask me why, I just think they're adorable 😆🤦 You'll see a tiny espresso cup holding them with my hand size for comparison.
I also "collect" a few other things like black and white or black and cream church plates for my plate wall. Those are harder to come by so I only have a handful. I'll share a couple other things that turned into a collection over the years too in other posts haha. What do you tell people you collect when you get asked that question?! I would love to hear about it or see pictures of your most favorite collections❤️ It's rare my hubby gets off work early, but it's raining here today so we're on our way to have a late lunch. I hope you all have a lovely day!!!😊

Good morning friends! It's another "What in the world is this Wednesday and how do you use it?!" Today's beauty is super unique! It's an antique Victorian quadruple silver plated Spooner sugar dish😍 Refined white sugar was a symbol of status, wealth, power, and self-indulgence in the Victorian era. A combo sugar bowl and spoon rack made of silver was a practical way of housing sugar as well as being a beautiful display piece to house spoons. Often times hostesses would place the guests spoons on this outside spoon holder portion during tea time. I think this would be a great piece to have during a party to serve hors d'oeuvres! What would you all use this for, just a display piece or functional?! You can find this beauty in my booth #75 in the back building of The Plow at Handsmill!❤️ I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!!!

The temperature dropped below 80 degrees this evening so it's officially soup season 😂🤣 I just wanted to share a quick and easy meal with you all that my family loves, ramen bowls! I know there's much fancier ways to make this, but I just keep it pretty simple haha. I buy a few packs of the oriental flavored ramen. I use ground chicken or turkey, 2 boxes of ramen broth, 1 whole bag of shredded coleslaw cabbage/carrot mix, and diced green onions. Cook and season your ground turkey or chicken using whatever seasonings you like, add minced garlic, then once the meat is fully cooked add the containers of broth, ramen noodles lightly broken up with 2 maybe 3 of the seasoning packs, fresh coleslaw mix, all spice seasoning, soy sauce, and for a twist I'll add a little bit of teriyaki or sweet chili sauce if I have it. I just let it all cook together which doesn't take long at all for the cabbage and noodles to get soft. It takes less than 30 minutes start to finish! When I use 3 ramen packs, I can get 5-6 hearty size bowls of soup from it. It only costs around $10-12 total to make it too! You can definitely add boiled eggs, hot sauce or other things to doctor it up more 😊 If you don't like cabbage, you could do shredded carrots, bok choy, and broccoli even. Just thought I'd give you all a little soupy soup inspiration for Fall!🧡

Good Tuesday morning everyone! I was so busy this past week getting my booth ready for the Fall event and preparing to have our yard sale Saturday that I didn't get to do much treasure hunting last week. I was able to get out this past Friday after meeting a friend for coffee and picked up a small handful of treasures 😊 I'm loving the vintage heavy patina brass candle holders and the silver plated salt and pepper shakers😍 Do you ever buy single s&p shakers? I do if they're unique or intricate enough! That's the case with this little silver shell. I think it would be adorable displayed in a coastal home in a little vignette. I always pick up ornate vases, especially with cobalt blue! My favorite finds though are these beautiful capiz shell and brass lampshades!!! I just need to find the perfect lamps to pair them with. If I had somewhere in my home to use them I'd definitely be keeping them haha 😆 Outside of the lampshades, you can find the brass and silver beauties in my booth #75 in the back building of The Plow at Handsmill here in Rock Hill SC! I hope you have a terrific Tuesday ❤️

Happy Monday everyone!!! I hope you all had a great weekend! Our forecast here this week finally shows some temps in the 50's for lows and 70's for highs! I guess Fall weather finally decided to show up to the party lol😆 I was literally dripping sweat even at 10:30 outside at the concert last night. The humidity was brutal🥵 To say I'm beyond excited for cooler weather is an understatement! Naturally though living in the Southeast we have yoyo weather and it'll mean mornings will feel like sweata weatha and by the afternoon I'll be sweating lol. How are the temps where you live, starting to see a cool down yet?!

Oh yah, wanted to add that we were in our local Walmart yesterday and literally right next to the summer clearance items on one side aisle you saw all the Fall and Halloween decor and then on the other side of summer clearance you saw the start of the Christmas aisle! They had about 5 Christmas decor pieces out so far. I bet by November they'll have added the Valentine's day aisle at this rate🤣 I'm definitely not mad at it though because seeing Christmas items at stores means the holiday season will be upon us soon, yay!!! I hope you all have a marvelous Monday ❤️
