Finally.
I finally picked up some Peruvian Walnut.
I finally figured out why the planer was gouging the walnut.
I finally fixed and it and was able to salvage the wood.
I finally milled it and now double framing.
I know it was only a day worth of issues and work but it feels like it took forever.
Also Peruvian Walnut is messy, stringy and a whole different beast to the normal walnut that I use. Not as dense or hard.

Is this what they mean?
It’s a lot, I know. Calm down, I’m not just meat you can drool over. I have actual skill outside of dancing provocatively. K, thanks.

It’s always fun trying to get the pre-teens involved in photoshops for my work. They immediately get awkward once the camera is on and forget how to do basic functions. Lol
Anyways, enjoy these photos.

My, Why.
These recent events have made me pause. Pause the woodworking and hustling. I hold them close. Cherish the quiet. Hold on to the little moments stolen between.

It doesn’t feel right to post about artwork and then pretend like everything is ok in our country. The more we ignore, the more it will spread and get worse.
I realize most post in an attempt to offer some sort of escape to our viewers/followers but I cannot. I am not the super political or religious type, but I am the humanitarian type. The recent events in MN and Chicago are absolutely devastating and soul crushing.
We are UNDERREACTING. The baiting with children, tear gassing babies, dragging humans out of their homes in below zero temps without warm clothes, the stalking of school busses and the executions are NOT ok. This isn’t about policy or politics, both of those have been thrown out the window long ago under this new rule. There is no accountability, nor consequence for these terrorists and it needs to stop. It’s about treating others with understanding, empathy and like they’re human, like we are ourselves. It’s shocking that we even have to say that. ICE is based on hate and profiling and instilling fear on everyone to gain control.
“Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. They’re allowed to take only a knapsack and a little cash with them, and even then, they’re robbed of these possessions on the way. Families are torn apart; men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared.“ -Anne Frank
As an artist, I have a deep need to create something in protest, to inform and to help. As a mosaic artist, I feel limited with how to evoke emotions in straight cuts. So once it warms up enough and my table saw will turn on, I will be selling two pieces, and donating proceeds.
Stay tuned for details on where these proceeds will be donated. I’d like them to directly to families to help with legal fees.
