Planning a visit to Willow Tree and Company in Rockingham, North Carolina? Here is what Market Days weekend
looks like.

Give yourself a morning, not a quick stop. Park on Hancock Street. Walk the whole store once without picking
anything up, then go back for what stayed with you. Ask questions. Tell us about the room you are shopping for, and
we will work out together what a piece will actually do in it before you spend a dollar. Bring measurements if you are looking at furniture. Bring a friend, because everything is better with someone to hold the other end of a console.

September is our anniversary month. We are celebrating 11 years!

Five places to decorate with lanterns.
Entry floor, beside the door. A large lantern on the floor is one of the easiest ways to fill an awkward corner, and it welcomes people the second they walk in.

What to bring when you shop modern rustic furniture at Market Days: your measurements.
Wall width. Table height. Doorway width. The walkway you want to keep clear. Write them in your phone before you leave the house and take a photo of the room while you are at it.Furniture is the first thing to go on market weekend, so come early if a console or a dresser is what you are after. Consoles, side tables, dressers, benches, accent chairs, and case pieces in mixed wood tones.
Mixed is the goal. Two or three wood tones in the same warm family look gathered over years. Hold the piece next to your photo, check that the tones share a warmth, and trust it.

How to fill a dough bowl for fall so it looks styled instead of set down:
🍁 Work in three heights.
🍁 Low and dense at the base. Small pumpkins, dried pods, wood beads, or fruit. This layer gives the bowl weight and
keeps everything from rolling around. #
🍁 Height next. A few shaped stems in warm fall tones, wheat, dried grasses, muted greenery, or branches. Shape them with your hands so they lean different directions instead of standing straight up.
🍁 Glow last. Candles at varying heights tucked in among the rest.
🍁 Then step back and leave a little wood showing. The bowl is part of the beauty, so let it be seen instead of burying it.
🍁 One more thing that matters. Fill toward one side rather than perfectly centered, and let the arrangement spill a little.
Even is what makes a bowl look like a display. Uneven is what makes it look like a home.

Wheat, soft rust and cream, dried textures that never drop a petal. Tuck a few shaped stems into a dough bowl or a pitcher and the whole surface feels like fall showed up.

Turns out, the things we’ve always loved are kinda chic.

Shopping small. Mixing old with new. Setting a beautiful table just because. Decorating with pieces that have a story. And creating a home that feels collected over time rather than perfectly coordinated.

Trends may come and go, but we’ll happily keep doing things this way.
