We have Cornicello Horn Key Chains!

The famous Italian horn-shaped charm (often mistaken for a chili pepper) is modeled after the peperoncino and the horns of a bull. It symbolizes strength, luck, and masculinity.

Magnesium Oil returns to the shop Friday! A magnesium oil roll-on’s provide targeted, topical relief by delivering magnesium chloride directly through the skin. The Olde World use of Broomcorn:

In the late 1790s, the first broomcorn brooms were made in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts. Farmers and hobbyists used the resilient tassels of the plant to create round bundles that swept floors much better than traditional twigs and reeds.

In the early 1820s, the Shakers revolutionized the broom's design. By removing woven stems and using wire to bind the fibers, they flattened the bristles in a vise and stitched them flat. This increased control and sweep area, creating the traditional household broom we know today.

Broomcorn is not a husked corn, but a sorghum. The crop must be hand-cut, dried, and threshed to remove seeds. Each broom requires 12 to 24 stalks. An artisan binds, sews (often flat-sewn), and shapes the fibers by hand using traditional techniques that take years to master. High-end makers such as Marybeth frequently use high-quality raw fiber and pair it with premium, custom-lathed handles such as local driftwood, poplar, or hickory!

When properly cared for like storing it by hanging to prevent the bristles from bending a well-made corn broom can last for years or even a lifetime, making it an investment. By purchasing an authentic Broomcorn Broom you are keeping Olde World and history of your ancestors alive!
