✈️ Kass Lynae Vibes in Airline History
This iconic 1973 Pacific Southwest Airlines stewardess uniform (designed by San Diego’s own Barbara Owens) is pure Golden Age magic.
Bright cherry-red tunic + hot pants, sweeping neon pink & orange waves, matching pillbox hat… and those go-go boots. PSA wasn’t just flying people — they were flying personality.
While other airlines stuck to military-style suits, PSA leaned all the way into sunny California cool. Same energy as the famous “Grinningbird” smiles painted on their planes. The World’s Friendliest Airline knew exactly what it was doing.
Part of the legendary “Air Hostess Wars” of the early ’70s — the look was so popular that Southwest copied the vibe when they launched.
Still one of the most joyful uniforms ever to walk a jet bridge.
