My latest mosaic creation : Solitude in Blue.
Inspired by the decorative richness of Gustav Klimt, Solitude in Blue portrays a solitary heron surrounded by water, reeds and floating vegetation. Hand-cut tesserae transform the bird and its surroundings into a composition of fragmented shapes, subtle patterns and luminous reflections. Soft blues, ivory and pale greens are punctuated by touched of mirrored glass. The solitary heron becomes a symbol of stillness and graceful contemplation.
