BEHIND THE BUILD: Delivery, Setup & Tie-Down!
When purchasing a manufactured home, one of the expenses in the construction process is delivery, setup, and tie-down. But what exactly are you paying for?
It’s a lot more than just having your home delivered to your property!
Let’s break down what’s included in this part of the process. 👇
🚛 Transportation & Delivery
This includes transporting your home from the factory to your property, paying the delivery drivers and required pilot cars, and covering the fuel and transportation expenses involved in getting your home safely to its destination.
🧱 Pier Columns & Blocking
Those concrete blocks underneath your home aren’t just placed there randomly! This portion includes the materials and labor required to carefully stack and position the pier columns that will support your home.
🏗️ Setting & Leveling the Home
Once your home arrives, crews work to position it on the prepared foundation, set it onto the pier columns, and properly level it. This takes specialized equipment, experience, and plenty of hands-on labor!
💧 Ground V***r Barrier
Notice the black plastic covering the ground underneath the home? That’s a v***r barrier! It helps reduce ground moisture entering the crawlspace while also providing a cleaner, neater area underneath your home.
🔩 Tie-Down & Anchoring
Your home also needs to be properly secured! Crews install the required straps and anchoring connections to secure the home to its foundation footers, helping it resist movement and wind forces.
So, why does delivery, setup, and tie-down cost so much?
Because you’re not just paying someone to drop a home off on your property. You’re paying for transportation, materials, specialized equipment, experienced crews, and the labor involved in properly setting and securing your home.
At Promised Land Homes, we believe understanding where your money goes from the beginning is an important part of the homebuying process. 💛
