So the arts and crafts movement began in the mid-1800s in Europe and moved to the United States by the turn of the century. The goal of arts and crafts was to reject industrialization and to create objects with care and lovely aesthetics. You can see remnants of the arts and crafts, movement, and all sorts of architecture and art, here is a beautiful example of a porch light restored by David that I feel epitomizes this movement
