New pull straps have been attached to the first two buildings (units 1-60). The next time you go to your unit, feel free to remove them from the handle and attach them to the mounting hole inside behind the center handle. We will get units 61-80 replaced in the near future. Thanks!

Good evening! We have a simple question to ask. We have owned Elgin Storage for almost 6 years now. In that time, we have made some great friends, have had some great tenants, and tried to keep an affordable facility for you to store your goodies.

We've only received a couple of Google reviews and one of those was a 1-star review. If it was accurate, we'd have no issues with it. But the review is 100% not about us. We don't know who it was supposed to be toward, but we have NEVER had what was said in the review happen at Elgin Storage. I have requested Google to remove the review multiple times, but they continue to let it stay.

So, we are asking if you've done business with us and have had a good experience, please take a minute and leave a review. Even if it isn't 5-stars, we'd appreciate the honest feedback from people that have actually done business with us.

We know there are things we could do to make our facility even nicer (pave the property for instance), but with all of those things come higher rates. We have done a really good job of keeping our rates as low as possible. For instance, this year we have had to eat another $800 in increased insurance and property tax. But we are absorbing that this year so we don't have to increase rates.

To all our loyal customers, we thank you for your business and appreciate you all. We’ve taken great pride in trying to give you the most value in a storage facility while providing a great place to store your items.

We’ve also taken pride in the fact that we’ve only had one price increase in the last five years, keeping our prices the absolute lowest in the area. The one time we did raise them was when the new fence and access system was installed.

Unfortunately, we must raise our rates. This time, it is completely out of our control, and instead is something we must do to cover our costs of operating the facility. The property taxes over the last two years have increased more than 300%. We try to be as transparent as possible, and these numbers are public knowledge, so we will show you the numbers over the last three years.

Our property taxes for 2021: $1300

Our property taxes for 2022: $2730

Our property taxes for 2023: $4258.80!!!

We have also received increases in our processing/web fees. We have been eating this increase like we did the property tax increase last year.

We truly hate to do this, but feel as though we have no choice. Our rates will still be the lowest in the area, but there will be an increase.

Effective October 1, 2023 all units will see a $5 increase on the monthly bill. This will hopefully give everyone a chance to prepare for the increase, or to line up other arrangements if they need to. All tenants will be receiving a letter at the address on file. We will also try and contact via text.

What better way to ring in the Year 2023 than with a special? We do not currently have any empty units, but we have plenty of space to park that boat, camper, trailer, vehicle, etc. So to ring in '23, we are running a special from now through the end of January. $23 a month per spot for outdoor parking. This is uncovered, but is located inside our fenced in facility requiring a key code for entry. Cameras also keep an eye on all entries into and out of the facility.
