A striking handmade terra cotta vessel featuring a sculptural Janus-style double face motif, wrapped in dramatic applied spiral relief work evocative of ram’s horns, waves, or ancient Mediterranean ornamentation. The vessel has an extraordinary architectural presence, blending Primitive Modernist, Folk Art, and ancient classical influences into a highly decorative statement piece.

Each side presents an expressive stylized face with elongated nose, almond eyes, arched brows, and sculpted lips, while the reverse is richly adorned in dimensional coiled forms that create remarkable texture and shadow. The earthy hand-finished surface and weathered patina give the piece the feeling of an excavated artifact or studio pottery sculpture collected abroad.

An exceptional object for a covered patio, Mediterranean garden room, conservatory, or richly layered interior. Beautiful styled with olive branches, orchids, dried botanicals, or displayed as a standalone sculptural vessel.

3 POSTMODERN ACRYLIC DINING OR ACCENT CHAIR WITH LEATHER CUSHION, FRANCE 1980S
A 1980s Postmodern dining or accent chair featuring a sculptural acrylic back and armrests, each in a subtle aqua hue. The curved forms of the acrylic elements contrast beautifully with the minimalist lines of the metal legs, creating a harmonious blend of materials and shapes.
Our team of restorationists have custom fabricated a cushion for the round seat in soft cream leather. This avant-garde chair would look fantastic in a dining room or as a statement piece in a living area. Sourced in France, 1980s.
