🦋22 years ago we were backstage during rehearsals for an awards show and all the sudden, there she was the tiniest person you’ve ever seen, and somehow the biggest one all at the same time.

She was talking to someone backstage, giggling that iconic laugh, the voice of an angel on Earth, and she was sparkling from head to toe, and we sat there, mouths agape, hearts completely dumbfounded. Quietly in the wings we slunk into the background, saying nothing, not moving a muscle.

But then it happened.

She glanced our way and said “hey yall!” with a tiny little wave and then went right back to her business before rehearsals. And that’s the closest we ever got to one of our icons, one of our cosmic copilots, one of our greatest inspirations.

But that was enough for us to carry with us for a lifetime.

Dolly, you are not just loved, you are beloved the world over. You are the best in all of us, you are an inspiration, the one to emulate, the rhinestone angel walking among us (and in stiletto platforms nonetheless).

You are the person who came from nothing but offered the world everything. Giving millions upon millions to causes that are so important.

❤️You are a fearless, compassionate leader to more than you could ever have known. All colors of the rainbow, you welcomed us all. Thank you for everything you’ve given of yourself.

Dolly, we will always love you. And we know one thing, Heaven sure got lucky today.

Until we all meet again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We were living in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1977, the year Elvis died. Dad was working as a sales rep for a chemical company. Mom was selling BeautiControl at night, driving around the not-so-swanky parts of Memphis selling cosmetics at home parties.

Dad’s boss came to town, and Mom and Dad had him over for dinner. They were expecting the boss to announce that Dad was getting a big promotion, so Mom bought fancy glasses that cost five dollars each. (She still has those five-dollar glasses btw.)

But the boss was not there to give Dad a big promotion. He was there to tell him that the branch was closing and Dad was out of a job.

Grit doesn’t happen when things are good. Grit happens when we’re tested. When Elvis has died, you’ve lost your job, you have two toddlers, and you just spent a precious twenty bucks on glasses.

Mom and Dad sat down that night and discussed what they wanted their lives to be. They would never their fate in someone’s else’s hands again. So they went back to Texas and began their careers as lifelong entrepreneurs, and it forever changed the path of our lives. (Excerpt from our book)

💋🤠❤️ last night this Alabama girl chose Texas and we were so happy to be there! The rest of the family couldn’t make it, so Indie and I took one for the team. 🤷‍♀️

I got dandelions branded on my boots, might have considered a tattoo backstage, and tried the new Shiner Beer Dandelion beer!

We got to hear stories from her parents backstage about hand-painted tip jars, the magic of living on an Alabama slew, the friendship of Ella & Miranda, and so much more. And we’re feeling really lucky today to have been invited to Ella’s first sold-out show in Texas!

ALSO!!! We got to see our friend Kaitlin Butts and we’re sooooo proud! And meet a new Idaho girl that we fell in love with gabriella rose

✨✨✨✨Also the Ella Fellas were out in full force last night and we have to say to we wanna join the gang! Yall!! It’s so good!!! (See slide 9)
