We have now been in our new home in Hyde Park for about 6 weeks, and most of the boxes are unpacked, new living furniture has been delivered, and the studio, of course, is filled with piles and TODO lists.

For the past 13months I have not had time with Clotho to weave new tapestries, but I think her sister Lachesis has been prompted my writing of free verse poetry. These scribbles have been inspired by my husband's dealing with cancer treatments and by my reading the 12 Minor Prophets.

I also created "Not Playing with a Full Deck" card and spelling game that, due to lack of time, I did not submit for the Catskilled Crafters' Annual Exhibit at the Pine Hill Community Center. This game is based on a caregiver's and her patient's ambiguous feelings while dealing with cancer.

We have now been here in our new home for almost 6 weeks, and many boxes are unpacked, new living furniture has been delivered, and as usual, the studio is filled to the brim with piles and TODO lists.

While the weaving/spinning muse (Clotho) has not been around for the past 13 months, perhaps it is her sister Lachesis who has prompted my free verse poetry written as I deal emotionally with my husband's cancer treatment and my readings of the 12 minor Prophets.

My "Not Playing with a Full Deck" card and spelling game for the Catskilled Crafters 2026 project was also greatly inspired by my feelings as my husband's caregiver. However, with the move and surrounding planning, I did not submit this for the Crafters' recent exhibit at the Pine Hill Community Center.

Dear Facebook Frends, Family, and Fans,

We have moved to Hyde Park, NY from Roxbury, NY (Delaware County) and are still setting up housekeeping, unpacking boxes, and learning how the heating/cooling systems and plumbing work. This is a more compact ranch style house than the Roxbury house. My studio 's windows face west and north, and my two folding tables provide ample workspace.

However, due to the move for health reasons and better commuting to NYC, no new artworks nor exhibits have been planned at this time.

Thank you, TABITHA GILMORE-BARNES STUDIO.

My second tapestry, GOOD FRIDAY, addresses the moment of eclipse during the Crucifixion Noon to 3p.m. on Passover. An alternative name for this tapestry is 'Culpae Obnoxium' .

This started as a small sketch, but as the weaving progressed towards the 3 crosses, two inspirations occurred: The inclusion of the blue sky tear drop to indicate God the Father’s presence at His Son’s crucifixion; and the off kilter directions of the primary cross to emphasize further the awe-fullness of man’s sin and God the Father’s demand for justice to rectify and restore creation.

My tapestry HOSANNAH (c) 2026 explores Psalm 1 along with the 7 branched Menorah and with 'God Save Us' for Palm Sunday and the Psalms of Ascent that were sung as believers ascended Mount Zion to the Temple.

Geoff Rogers Framing, Pine Hill, New York, does an incredible job. Thank you Geoff, Tabitha Gilmore-Barnes Studio.
