I chose the name Heart of Athena because I am inspired by ancient cultures and Athena is
the ancient Greek patron Goddess of the Arts and Artisans. I am fascinated by natural earthy materials like base and precious metals such as copper, silver and brass as well as natural semi precious stones which I use in my jewelry. I also love fibers such as yarns made of merino wool, baby alpaca, bamboo, cotton to name a few. I have been knitting for years and I am still excited by it. I have been mixing materials in projects such as jewelry made of fiber and metals combined creating a new version based on ancient artifacts, jewelry or clothing from ancient cultures from around the world.
