A table with history in its legs.

We love the way this table takes something quite traditional, the classic cabriole leg, and gives it a fresh, modern feel. The sweeping curve along the tabletop adds another beautiful detail, making the whole piece feel soft and timeless.

It’s the kind of table that looks just as good at the centre of a busy family dinner as it does dressed up for a special occasion.

Available in five sizes and a selection of woods and finishes, the Noah is made to order, so you can make it your own.

SARZA began with a love for South African design. I’m Sarah, and together with my husband, John, we founded SARZA with a simple hope: to share the incredible creativity and design coming out of South Africa with the world.

For me, one of the most special things about SARZA is the relationships we’ve built with our makers over the years. We have a wonderful team on the ground in South Africa who work closely with them, visit their studios and workshops, and are constantly discovering new talent, materials and beautiful pieces. These are personal relationships, built over time and they’re at the heart of who we are.

Everything we bring into SARZA has a story behind it. We want you to know the people and places behind each piece, and to get a sense of what makes South African design so unique.

Our furniture are carefully hand-picked for their beauty and quality with sustainability at the heart of what we do: buy well, buy less, and love what you buy for a very long time.

And sometimes, the piece you’re looking for doesn’t exist yet, so we create it with you. We work with private clients, interior designers and the trade on custom sizing, finishes and bespoke commissions, from individual homes to large-scale hospitality projects.

You don’t just buy from SARZA. You can commission something made beautifully, thoughtfully and uniquely for you.

Whether it’s one special piece or a much larger project, no brief is too big or too small. We work closely with you and our makers in South Africa to bring your vision to life, creating pieces that are made to be loved for years to come.

For a recent client looking for lighting for their stairway, we worked with Arkivio to create a rendering of our Isibo Pendants, showing the client exactly how the lights could look in their space.

We love being able to customise our pieces and work with clients to bring their ideas to life, from choosing the right design to visualising it in the space.

Thinking about a piece for your home? Let’s see what we can create together.

A behind-the-scenes look at Sarah’s visit to the INDIGENUS Planters factory.

We got a sneak peek at some exciting new designs in development, including a beautiful new planter coming soon to Sarza, created in collaboration with artist Zizipho Poswa and INDIGENUS Planters.

Needless to say, we left feeling very inspired. We can’t wait to bring these new pieces to the US and share them with you.

Stay tuned… there’s lots to look forward to.

The future of South African design.

When a group of artists and designers come together, amazing things happen. Introducing the Boomslang Server, a custom-made piece designed by the multidisciplinary team at Studio Kalki (Nikhil Tricam & Nindya Bucktowar ) and manufactured by SOLID OAK FURNITURE MADE IN SOUTH AFRICA.

A celebration of bold ideas, local talent and the possibilities that emerge when creative disciplines come together. The Boomslang Server is a glimpse into where South African design is heading, distinctive, collaborative and full of character.

A closer look at the making of one of Studio Kalki’s most distinctive pieces.

The Boomslang Server was designed as part of the Future Heirlooms collection, a collaboration curated by Always Welcome and the American Hardwood Export Council. The piece brings together sustainably farmed American Red Oak with hand-fired ceramic tiles, creating a dialogue between timber and colour.

Its inspiration comes from the South African boomslang (tree snake), specifically the rhythm and colour of its scales and the way its body coils around a branch.
A piece where material, movement and inspiration come together and where the making is just as fascinating as the finished design.

Where art, architecture and design come together.

Based in Durban, South Africa, Studio Kalki is a multidisciplinary design studio founded by Nikhil Tricam and Nindya Bucktowar. With backgrounds in architecture, art and ceramics, the duo creates furniture and lighting that explores form, texture and material in unexpected ways.

Their work brings together organic, tactile ceramics with timber and steel, creating pieces that are sculptural and considered. Each design has its own character, celebrating the natural variations and individuality of the materials.

At Sarza, we love Studio Kalki for their distinctive approach to contemporary South African design, pieces that add personality, texture and a sense of curiosity to a space.

Sarah visited the Woodbender factory to experience the art of steam bending firsthand. Watching solid wood transformed into smooth, flowing curves is a reminder of the skill and patience behind every piece.

It’s always inspiring to meet the people behind the process and to see the care that goes into every chair before it finds its place in a home, restaurant or hotel.

Proudly made in South Africa, and proudly part of the Sarza collection.
