The Texas Ranch House is at home in a beautiful historic building that was built in 1938 by Michael Glasscock. It reflects his love of western decor, from the W.R. Dallas lighting fixtures throughout the store to the 60x120’mural painted on the back room walls.The mural is of his ranch, located 15 miles north of the store.The outside of the building was a Gulf Service station, the front room was h

ome to the Ranch House Cafe. The back room was used as a dance hall from 1938 until the early 1970's. It has been host to celebrities such as Howard Hughes, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, and John Wayne to name a few. Come visit us....we will be happy to give you a tour of this beautiful piece of history!

After months of dreaming, planning, grant writing, fundraising, recruiting artists, and countless team planning meetings, we’re so excited to finally share the schedule for the inaugural TerraTx.

TerraTx Art Fest is a celebration of the Frio Canyon through art, history, music, storytelling, ecology, and the people who have made this place special for generations.

Every event is free to attend, and every mural, presentation, workshop, and performance has been thoughtfully curated around this year’s theme: Legends of the Land.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll continue to introduce each artist, musician, historian, naturalist, and community partner, along with behind-the-scenes looks at the murals as they come to life.

We can’t wait to welcome you September 25-27. Save the graphic, make your plans, and share it with someone who loves the Frio Canyon as much as you do.
