I want to explain my service project.
People from all over have been severly impacted by the rising cost of EVERYTHING. it's not just rising gas prices it's now the 50% increase in some groceries.
When you're living pay check to pay check it's already a tight squeeze to pay for necesary items. So when things increase in cost but your paycheck doesn't there is a big void.
These parents may be in the situation where they have to decide on gas for the week or diapers, paying the rising cost of utilities or diapers.
I want to help with the burden and help fill the void.
Some interesting facts:
the average parent goes through 3,000 diapers a year & 8220 wipes in a year.
The cost of diapers isn't going down and the need doesn't change because your paycheck does.
Some of the parents may just need help with clothes, food or gear they can't afford.
I know it seems like a big ask. 20,000 DIAPERS. I feel the pressure that I have. I feel like it is doable if we can rally our community behind this,
Did you know Saginaw and Flint are on the top 15 cities in michigan? Birch Run is situated right between them. So this baby pantry really has a need. They have a GAP to fill.
I'm just one kid and I know that doing something bigger than myself is part of growing up, but I can only make a big impact if you all are willing to help me.
I am currently 26.95% to my goal.
*currently 5,370 diapers.
I really would like to ask you to share my post- my progress and my wish list. If everyone donated money to the amazon wish list or just picked up one pack of diapers. they all add up.
you can drop off baby donations of any kind to the church itself.
maybe you can share what i'm trying to do with your work coworkers, your friends or your church. I am hoping to wrap up my 2nd Annual Diaper Drive by March 1st..
