It’s the second full day of summer vacation, and I’m headed off to Grand Rapids to do all sorts of lovely flowery garden things like Horrock’s, Meijer Gardens, and spending some gift card money at the massive Countryside Greenhouse 💕

In the meantime these 6 sweet little vases filled with ranunculus perfection are on the flower porch this morning until 2pm. They would make perfect little grad party gifts 👩‍🎓🩷

These beauties will be on the porch until 2-ish. I will pick the last of the ranunculus this week as the plants will be done after this week’s heat. Ranunculus season is super short in our part of the country thanks to long cold springs that flip too quickly to hot humid summers. So grab them while they’re here!!

**1:50pm edit: it’s HOT! So the ranunculus bunches and peony vases are chilling inside. There are still 8 bunches and 2 vases so if you need flowers yet today message me! Otherwise they will go back out tomorrow morning 😊

All sold out of porch flowers for today!

But for those of you ranunculus fans who missed out today, Monday morning flowers look to be AMAZING! Loads more bunches coming as I just harvested all these beauties 🤩

I had actually hoped to harvest the majority of these in bud form so that they would store in the cooler for longer. But the reality of not being able to get to my in-laws garden for a couple days means I missed that optimal harvest window.

But it also means these gorgeous blooms will be up for grabs on Monday morning!

It’s peony season 💕
And ranunculus season 💜

But it’s also the season of scarcity:

*Not enough rain…one of the driest Mays on record so yesterday’s rain was soooo needed!

*Not enough sleep 😴

*Not enough fillers and foliage…my seed started annuals aren’t producing anything yet so I’m cutting that stuff out my landscaping this time of the year.

*Not enough room in our driveway…I sincerely apologize that you have to weave your way through a packed parking lot to get to the flower porch 😏

*Not enough time…this is a constant in all parts of the growing season, but I feel it most intensely at this point in the season when I need to be doing ALL the things but there is still so much of my regular life responsibilities to attend to. The little pockets of time I have allow for only a small fraction of flower farming tasks to be done.

So the quantity of floral offerings this time of the year mirror the small slice of my life that I can devote to flowering 🙂

Saturday morning porch flowers include some really lovely peony arrangements. Plus, what I do have in abundance are ranunculus stems and asparagus ferns with tiny little green bell blooms. I’ve wrapped up some of those delicate and delightful bunches for just $10 each 💕

It’s the season of whimsy 💖 So many floral elements that dance and sparkle and delight!

🩰 little tutu-like columbine blooms
🎆 shimmering purple allium globes
🫛 curving, swerving tendrils of clematis and sweet pea vines
💙even the tiny little dark blue fringe at the center of the anemones is magical

Someone in your life needs some magic today 🥰 And the very first pillowy pink ranunculus bud is ready to unfold its lovely layers for a lucky recipient 💕

Vase arrangements will be on the porch only until 11:30 today because of the heat.

A small number of Saturday arrangements are out on the porch this cool and rainy Saturday 🌧️ And while I know most prefer hot and sunny for their holiday weekends, this gardener is thankful for today’s weather 😊

The anemones are still sending up short stems so I’ll rummage around to find some shorter vases to accommodate them and likely have a few more smaller arrangements out by 11. 👍🏻

More wrapped bunches and small vases of anemones and lily of the valley on the porch this Thursday morning! Next round of flowers Saturday morning will be Korean lilacs, the whimsical sparkling purple allium globes and more of the blue-eyed anemone beauties 💜💙
