Coastal Boho style is all about creating a relaxed, comfortable, and free-spirited space layered with texture and color. Think airy, light-filled palettes paired with soft linens, weathered wood, plants, seashell accents, seagrass baskets, and touches like macramé wall hangings or poufs.

It’s a style that continues to be especially popular with teens and college girls—my daughter, who’s in college, has beautifully incorporated this look into her apartment. And it’s still going strong this year!

While, I am working on a coastal cottage design, I want to share what a Grandma’s Coastal Cottage style key elements would include. Think of a light and airy color palette with light blues or sea-glass greens, creams, and beiges. With a family room filled of comfortable white linen-covered sofas, rattan chairs, and jute rugs. Accents would include weathered drift wood, baskets, vintage style hardware, open shelves with a seashell collection and stacked books, with a smell of fresh cut flowers! This cozy, relaxed style home never becomes dated.
