The internals of framing an original Gyotaku print.
We settled on a linen mat in black to match the arts linen texture and make the subject in black ink and the white wash frame, pop.
We chose to mat over the edges and space the mat up for more dimension and depth. We mounted the art like we would a needlework, built the edges out and assembled it with our go to 92 UV block invisible Art Glass and BAM!

A client brought us a new surfboard with original art painted on it to frame. She said she didn't mind us attaching the board with screws but being surfers and conscious minded framers we could never drill holes in a brand new surfboard nor alter artwork in any way. There was weight to consider too so we backed the blk. FC with thin 1/8 laminated board then we attached a bolt through the board with the head sliding into the into the fin box and locking, to support the weight of the board. 100 # monofiliment doubled to 200 # was wrapped around the nose and pulled tight to secure the top.

So you have framing you need done but don't have the time to stop by or maybe you live out of town?
Call us, mail it to us and let us layout our favorite framing combination based on your tastes and text it to you along with a cost. Once a framing combo is selected and prepaid, jobs under 20" × 24" (like the one shown) are completed, packed and shipped in about 30 days. This job with a triple archival mat, invisible UV blocking glass and a 1" gold leaf frame was around $300.00 plus shipping.

We were tasked with preserving and presenting this tribute to Ozzie Osborne. Instead of just cutting a multi opening mat to accommodate all of the memorabilia, the individual posters were matted, the articles were separately mounted, matted and spaced up for more depth and dimension, then surface mounted. The medallions were secured in place with brass screws, colored black and clocked at 6 and 12.

With no frames deep enough to accommodate the depth of the guitar by themselves, this job was another example of fabricating one frame out of two. We mounted and spaced up the collectibles on a black background around the guitar so they appear to float and glazed the piece with Artglass.

This piece was a challenge due to the depth of the guitar but we handled it.
Creativity is the name of our game and since we're not set up to mill and finish custom moldings, we stack mouldings to accommodate deeper pieces. We built these two frames the exact size, jig-sawed the rabbet out of one and married them together. The memories were then mounted appropriately and spaced up for depth and dimension.
