Our first handmade leather keychain, cut from a single length of full-grain leather that folds back on itself and locks down low, so your keys ride right where you want them. A solid-iron Sling Lever Snap clip and a heavy-duty 1" split ring handle the rest.

I currently have an on-site project I’m doing on a farm near Cadiz. It is a beautiful space with lots of critters including several peacocks, and a whole little army of Guineas. The Guineas keep a close eye on my every move and this particular peacock really appreciated his reflection in the chrome bumper on my truck, lol.

Way too warm and humid for spraying outdoors, so a garage spray booth setup it is! I was going to do this anyhow for the final topcoat, but it's sooner rather than later due to the weather. Second sanding and second coat of primer on all of the vanity & dresser parts we're refinishing.

We don't usually take on refinishing projects, but when a friend asked, we made an exception — and we think the final product will be well-worth the effort.

This is a vintage waterfall-style vanity/dresser combo (dresser & mirrors not pictured) that was buried under an extremely thick coat of black paint. We've just wrapped up the messiest stage: stripping away as much of that heavy paint as we reasonably can. It's slow, gritty work, but it's the foundation everything else is built on. Next up is prep for prime and paint, which we'll be laying down with an HVLP sprayer for a new, smooth, even finish.

One thing we believe in: take care of the details that matter. You can see in the last couple of photos that we're even cleaning up the sides of the drawers — those original dovetail joints are worth showing off. We're not chasing a museum-grade restoration here. The goal is to thoughtfully address as many things as is practical, so the finished piece comes out dramatically better than it came in.

Old pieces like this were built to last. A little intentional work, and this one's ready for another life.
