I started my cactus journey years ago in the deserts of Texas, where I first came across a plant that completely changed how I see nature. It wasn’t the biggest or the most colorful, but it carried a deep sense of history and meaning.
Growing up, my father—who was connected to the Native American Church—taught me that some plants aren’t just plants. They represent tradition, patience, and respect. Watching this cactus grow in our garden over the years showed me how slow and intentional nature can be. From its small blooms to the careful process of seed collection, everything about it requires attention and care.
Today, my focus is on preserving and cultivating desert cacti responsibly. I’m passionate about sharing knowledge, learning from others, and keeping these plants thriving for future generations. It’s not just about growing them—it’s about understanding where they come from and why they matter.

One of the most special moments in my cactus journey was being able to share it with a friend. For her birthday, I gave her a small piece from my collection—something I had been growing and caring for over time. It wasn’t about the plant itself as much as what it represented: patience, growth, and connection.
She was genuinely happy, and that moment stuck with me. It reminded me that these plants carry more than just their physical presence—they carry stories, time, and intention. Watching her excitement made me realize how powerful it is to share something you’ve nurtured with someone else.
Since then, what started as a personal interest has slowly grown into something bigger. We’re building a small community of people who appreciate cacti—not just for how they look, but for the journey behind growing them. It’s about learning together, sharing experiences, and respecting the deeper meaning that some of these plants hold.
For me, it all comes back to the same idea: growth takes time, and it’s even better when it’s shared.
