Today I went to morning yoga class in the park to support another local small business owner.
That business owner just happens to be my mom. With all my mindfulness this morning I’m feeling really grounded today, even with all the helium in the air. Today I am thankful for a mother who gave me strong roots and showed me to always do things with love and passion. Though she may not always understand my creative process, my roots grow a bit more wild than hers. She taught me how to be a mother and everything I do for my kids and I can credit for the way she raised me. she may not have made three separate themed balloon towers for my siblings, and I, as I am today for my three but she taught us patience and love, some of what I pour into every project I do. We are so very different her and I.
She is a very calm and calculated woman and I am a very wild and colorful one. Coming together with her in her yoga practice is one of the many ways she brings me back down to earth again. This is a very long and rambling way of saying thank you to all the people who have poured parts of themselves into my artwork with or without intending to.
Everything you buy when you support a local small business carries a piece of everyone the creator touches in life. Thank you mom for giving me a purpose in both my art and my family which are irrevocably intertwined.
