Our dear James Frase White has died. We just saw Jim last Saturday at Kim Darling’s artist reception. He was hugging and chatting up around the room. This is so sad. Jim curated our Backroom Gallery shows for years. He brought in some amazing artists to this community. It is hard to imagine he has left us. Jim, and Dorian McGowan, and Joan Harlowe were the three amigos. They have all died within the last month. They would get together for drinks regularly in good weather. I always wished I could be a fly on the wall for that.

James Marshall Frase-White, age 78, of Railroad Street, St. Johnsbury, Vt., passed at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., Monday, March 2, 2026.
