WE’RE HIRING! | Floral Design Assistant
Garden Gate Flowers is looking for a dependable, creative, hardworking person to join our team as a part-time Floral Design Assistant.
This is a hands-on, do-a-little-bit-of-everything position—and we mean that in the best way. You’ll work alongside our designers while learning the ins and outs of a busy, full-service flower shop and retail boutique. For the right person, there is plenty of opportunity to grow your floral design skills and potentially move into a larger design role.
THE DETAILS
• Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week
• Additional hours may be available during holidays, wedding season and other busy weeks
• Saturday availability is required
• Occasional Sundays may be needed for weddings, events or busy seasons
• We have some flexibility with scheduling for the right person
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Assist our floral designers and create arrangements
• Process and care for fresh flowers
• Prep containers, supplies and orders
• Make local deliveries
• Help customers on our retail floor and at checkout
• Price and merchandise retail products
• Wash and sanitize buckets and work areas
• Sweep, clean and help keep the shop organized
• Assist with weddings, events and large orders
• Jump in wherever needed—because no two days in a flower shop are exactly the same
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO
• Is dependable, positive and ready to work
• Takes initiative and can see what needs to be done
• Works well as part of a team
• Is comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Can lift and carry at least 20 lbs.
• Has a clean driving record and is comfortable making deliveries
• Is preferably 21+
• Has floral/design experience—or a genuine desire to learn
Floral experience is preferred, but we’re absolutely willing to train the right person. Work ethic, attitude, creativity and reliability matter just as much to us.
