Clay Panther Ceramics An alternative visioning of ceramics as sculpture. My background is in Art History and painting. I have a reverence for the past. Asymmetrical work is my calling.

This is my ceramic work and the summation of a lot of years of taking up the yoke of Art, or, as I tell my friends, "feeding the Art Monkey" I'm heavily influence by Modernist/Surrealist painters, like Joan Miró and Paul Klee. I respect the work of artists who have bravely cut into the history of Art. And at the same time I'm irreverent. There hasn't been enough Art made. There hasn't been a suf

ficient exploration of the possibilities of Art. With the influence of the art world I shape the future of ceramic work. Symmetrical work is satisfying to a lot of people. And a lot of magnificent work is symmetrical. I love abstract (non-objective) work. Asymmetry creates a greater compositional challenge.
