For Teens & Adults.

Poems by Alice Duggan have appeared in Tar River Poetry, Alaska Quarterly Review, Poetry East, WaterStone Review, Ohio Review, North American Review (forthcoming) and elsewhere; also in her chapbook, A Brittle Thing, from Green Fuse Poetic Arts, Loveland, Colorado, 2012, and “Ledger” from Ingram-Spark, 2026. As a writer, she’s interested in dailiness, in plain speech, in sound, the timbre of voices. In telling stories.

Low self-publishes their poetry and essays in zines, and loves encouraging and helping others publish their own zines. They organize readings, zine fests, and love to work collaboratively. They often write prose poetry about the queerness of the natural world, unusual desires, and power dynamics.

Ease is a transdisciplinary artist, writer, altar tender and world builder. Through embodied practice he dances in defense of the sensuous and creates space to be with rupture and collapse, to come undone, to yearn, and to grow. Rooted in seasonal practice, land, loss and longing, his work follows the Celtic wheel of the year and listens to the language of symbol and song. Notably he has hosted intergenerational candle making workshops in spiritual community, performed and vended at venues throughout Minneapolis, and his short story, Sea Urchin Experiences Worry, was published in the zine Q***r Home of Craft, through Q***r Voices Minnesota.

Our Passport to China through the Arts summer campers poured their hearts, creativity, and unique visions into every single project over the last two weeks!

Working alongside professional artists, these young creators explored China’s culture and vibrant traditions through hands-on art, including landscape painting, puppetry, Cloisonné creatures, textile arts, kites, traditional masks, dance, sculpting, and more!

Their talent and dedication have completely blown us away. We couldn't be prouder of these incredible young artists!

From June 22–25, our talented teen artists kicked off ArtStart’s Camp Create by diving into the rich artistic traditions of China. Working side-by-side with professional artist Jeanette Dickinson in the mornings, these young creators pushed outside their comfort zones to learn incredible new skills across two distinct mediums:

Landscape Painting: Teens mastered traditional brushwork, exploring ink density, negative space, and atmospheric composition to capture the spirit and energy of nature.

Jewelry Making: Students explored the cultural significance of jade, and designed and assemble stunning, wearable art pieces.

We are so proud of the imagination and cultural curiosity these artists brought to the studio every day. A huge thank you to Jeanette Dickinson for inspiring our teens to see the world with new eyes!
