We met with our project manager from the lifting company yesterday and finally got some tentative timelines for our project. Unfortunately, everything about this process has been longer than anticipated so we’re not holding our breath for any of this.
- with the current supplies and where we are on the project list, he expects that our house would be lifted to full height within 2 to 3 weeks from now
- once we’re at full height, there is still a lot of steps that remain for the lifting company and his best guess at this point is that we’re looking at two months from now before the project is finished by the lift company.
- our contractor is currently getting drywall up on the interior and finishing the mason rework for the converted garage window windows
- our contractor is estimating that by the end of next week drywall and window install* installation should be finished
*we’ve been told to expect window install numerous times already so 😏
- our contractor team will be able to work on hanging doors, finishing drywall, adding floors and tile work, etc. once the house is at full height, and no longer at risk of being damaged by the lift.
- our contractor’s team will be able to work throughout this process, except for when the lift company is on site. (There’s a lot of waiting for concrete to cure and things like so work will continue while we wait for the lift to finalize.)
- a big step in the process that also needs to happen is building the front and back deck so that the property can still be accessed once lifted. I have no idea what the timeline on that is expected to be.
All in all, our current hope is that maybe we’ll be home sometime in May.
We are weary and ready to be home.
