Missouri officially discovered that roundabouts are not traffic circles…

They're "Show-Me" proving grounds. 🚗❄️

On paper, it's simple:

Slow down.

Yield.

Enter.

Take your exit.

Easy.

Missouri drivers looked at that and said:

"Show me why I can't just go straight through." 😭

The first car enters cautiously.

The second car treats it like a four-way stop.

The third car is still trying to figure out if this counts as Kansas City rules or St. Louis rules.

And someone with Illinois plates is circling for the fourth time, completely lost.

Traffic flow has become a philosophical debate.

Meanwhile the pickup truck crowd arrives.

They're towing a bass boat for Lake of the Ozarks.

A BBQ smoker trailer.

A camper headed to Branson.

Or enough gear for opening day of turkey season.

The trailer swings a little wide.

Everybody notices.

Half the cars brake. The other half speed up. 💀

Then there's the Missouri retiree driving 18 mph through the entire roundabout like it's a scenic tour of the Show-Me State.

The line behind them stretches halfway to Columbia. 😭

Turn signals become a mystery.

Some people use them.

Some forget they exist.

And at least one driver has had their blinker on since leaving Springfield in 2022.

Multi-lane roundabouts are where Missouri really shines.

One lane says left.

One lane says right.

Most drivers understand.

A few decide that straddling both lanes is the safest compromise.

Because in Missouri, commitment to a lane is apparently negotiable. 💀

Now add:

❄️ Ice storm conditions

🌧️ Flash flooding potential

🌪️ Tornado watch

🦌 A deer casually watching from the shoulder

And suddenly the roundabout feels less like traffic engineering and more like a Midwest survival challenge.

The engineers said:

"This will improve traffic flow."

Missouri said:

"Show me how that's supposed to work first."

It's not just a roundabout.

It's a circle of skepticism, confusion, pickup trucks, boat trailers, unpredictable weather, and "I'll believe it when I see it" energy.

And somehow...

everybody eventually ends up at QuikTrip anyway. 🚗😂
