Congratulations to the FRAN building team on a wonderful Grand Opening and ribbon cutting. Thank you Architects Richard Rothweiler and Sarah Rose for all your work on the project, it will be an amazing community resource. What a turn out on a beautiful day.

Last stop of the day was a tour of the CFC indoor field on State street. Absolutely huge inside! Turf is expected to be installed in two weeks. A second floor patio will be the coveted space that looks over their outdoor fields from the second floor office space. Good job Architect Blake Bural. A giant logo signage greets all to the site thanks to Architectural intern Chandler Arnsdorf.

Our next stop was for an office lunch at the Pink Elephant on Lancaster. We facilitated the permit for their expansion space. If you have never been, they have a great menu and here are some pics of the lunch items we sampled.

We love office field trip days to visit current and past construction projects. Today our team started out with a tour of the just about completed "FRAN" building out on lancaster next to the boys and girls club. The "FRAN" building in Salem, Oregon is the Family Resource Advocacy Network, a new 2026 social services hub located at 3803 Lancaster Drive NE next to the Boys & Girls Club. It is spearheaded by the Larry and Jeanette Epping Family Foundation and managed with Catholic Community Services. This will be an amazing social services hub for the community.

Our Plan
Build a new 7,000 square-foot permanent facility that will serve Independence, Monmouth, rural Polk County, and Marion County for decades to come. The design of the building includes:

An exterior market structure to create a welcoming entrance and shopping experience.

An ergonomically appropriate food bank entrance and shopping area for all shoppers to select their own food.

Easy-to-access area; a drive-through pickup area to be used during health emergencies and be available for shoppers with disabilities and special needs.

An outdoor produce market area with portable shelving to more readily provide healthy produce.

The new location will increase the availability of fresh produce with dedicated planting sections for fruit, vegetables, and a community garden space.

Along with the FIFA World cup craze, Salem's very own excitement is for the Capital Fútbol Club indoor field construction. Check out the progress photos. Coming soon later in 2026, all those players can't wait to be sheltered playing indoors. What a great addition to their existing complex.
