Crabby baby 🦀

When you find broken dolls and use their heads to make lamps, you end up with lots of arms and legs, like boxes of them. A lot of times, I use the hands and feet to make key chains (lovingly known as lucky baby feet), the bigger legs get to become small Christmas Story style leg lamps, but sometimes you just gotta see what sort of creature wants to climb out of tht parts box.

Recording process for this was is missing a lot of stuff, mostly because I didn't know what the next step was until it happened. Hopefully you can see how it went from a few holes in a 2x4 to a multi arm monstrosity.

Join me while I ruin this doll head with my sickening ideas until its value increases to at least ten times what it would be worth otherwise.

Unlike the articulated neck from the doll a couple of posts back, this one needed a base. A lot of times I use something industrial looking as a base, but I went with a rough sawn wooden base for this guy (I didn't record it, but I wanted to match the staples in the doll's face to the base and I can slap a staple into a cast iron sprocket).

Blocky lamp bases are back.

I bet you're asking "why does the cord come out of the back of the neck qhen the base is elevated and it could have just come out through there?" Because I forgot, and I already drilled the hole in the back of the neck. Ease off me, I don't ususlly have the luxury of an footed base.

You think we need need more dolls? You think we need more dolls. Alright, lets post some more dolls.
I don't end up with a lot of these articulated neck dolls, but I love it when I do. Theres something about being able to tilt the head just a little bit to really give it some lifelike character. Heres a new demon baby doll lamp that'll be available at the next show.
The jaundicy eyes are where its at for me.

Picked up a lego skull mini fig storage bucket from my neighbor at Brimfield last week, thinking a I could make a skull lamp of a different sort.
What do you think? One and done or should I track down some more?
