What a fun project we just wrapped up!!

Big shoutout to Michael Hitch with Top Notch Plumbing for helping bring this incredible outdoor shower project to life at Home of the Terrapin King. The install came out amazing and adds the perfect touch after long days on the water, fishing, kayaking, or relaxing by the bay.
And a huge thank you to Abbi Custis for the beautifully designed and hand-painted surfboard centerpiece. The artwork completely transformed the space and brought such a fun coastal vibe to this waterfront getaway. 🌊🎨

Out perusing some local businesses today and I noticed something interesting 👀
These art walls caught my attention — not because the pieces were wildly different, but because of the paint backdrops behind them.
Same general concept. Similar artwork.
But the wall color completely changed how the art felt.
🖌 One backdrop made everything look richer and more dramatic.
🖌 Another made it feel softer and more approachable.
🖌 One really highlighted the texture and contrast in the pieces.
It’s wild how much paint alone can shift your perception — the mood, the depth, even what your eye focuses on first.

This fireplace transformation is one of those projects where every detail came together perfectly — and the end result completely changed the feel of the space.
A huge thank you to Pemberton Appliance for the stunning new gas fire logs that look incredibly realistic and for the gorgeous custom glass doors that truly elevated the final design.
We started with a traditional fireplace and leaned into a more moody, layered aesthetic:
✔️ Brick painted black for depth and contrast
✔️ New wallpaper creating a rich, moody backdrop
✔️ Marble tile threshold with brass inlay for a luxury touch
✔️ Custom brass doors for warmth and sophistication
✔️ Realistic gas logs that bring both beauty and function
The transformation from before to after shows how intentional materials and thoughtful design can completely redefine a space — cozy, dramatic, and elevated all at once.
Collaborating with great local partners like Pemberton Appliance makes projects like this even more special 🤍
