Scenes from a primary suite. Our intention was to create a sanctuary of a space, but with details that belie a stereotypical Southwestern design: the bench that faces the extra-ordinary red rock views, the raw slat legs of the vanity, and of course the blue tub.

Left my heart in Mexico City, where color is embraced, design is a value, art is everywhere, music fills the streets, food is an art form, and no one is simply trying to be like their neighbor. We could use a few shakes of this in the US, right now. (I’m looking at you Utah).

Before we came on the scene, there was no hearth, no mantle, no fireplace surround. Just a tall white brick wall. We added this custom mantle, soapstone, and brick hearth to give the space some heart. .alba
