Our work begins with the architecture—and with an understanding of how our clients want to live.

From the earliest spatial and architectural decisions to the final furnishings and art, we consider the home as a whole. Each layer should have a meaningful relationship to the next, creating interiors that feel cohesive, personal and enduring.

ALL SEASONS RETREAT - SIX YEARS LATER:

We designed this Redmond pool house six years ago with one rule: nothing goes in unless it is built to last. Thoughtful details, natural materials, and craftsmanship create the foundation for this timeless design, which features exposed trusses, ten operable skylights, stone, bronze, and materials chosen to age beautifully. Even the dressing room received the same level of care as the pool bath.

Six years on, it still feels exactly as we intended—which was always the point.

We do not chase trends. We create timeless interiors with the client at the heART of our design.

Every time I see this mountain bluebird mid-flight, in Lynda Lowe’s work, it stops me in my tracks. The artist builds in layers of watercolor, oil, and wax, allowing the birds to appear sharp and alive against a soft, ethereal background. It creates a striking depth that you feel immediately.

This is exactly what I mean when I tell clients that art shouldn’t be the final addition to a room—it should often be the first decision that defines how the entire space feels. Art establishes the color story, guides the eye, and determines whether a room feels quiet or bold. For me, “Bird Path III” achieves both; the florals and grasses remain still while the birds bring the composition to life.

Hello, and a warm welcome to both our longtime followers and those who have recently joined us.

I’m Dana Foster, founder and principal of Dana Foster Interiors. For over three decades, I’ve worked across the Pacific Northwest and beyond, designing primary residences, secondary homes, and vacation properties for clients who trust us with something deeply personal — their home.

I founded this studio with the commitment to genuine, tailored design that enhances how you live. As the daughter of a contractor, construction is in our DNA. Before launching the studio, I spent a decade working at local construction firms, both large and small. This background in construction and project management shapes our approach today: we believe the client is at the HeART of every design, supported by a collaborative, streamlined process, quality craftsmanship, and timeless materials.

Whether we’re managing a whole-home new build, a major renovation, or a luxury furnishings installation, our goal remains the same: to create spaces that are beautiful, deeply functional, and uniquely yours.

I’m proud to lead a small, intentionally collaborative team that is dedicated to this craft. Thank you for being part of our community. I look forward to sharing more of our work, our process, and the homes we’re creating.

There is something so completely satisfying and magical when a piece of art is selected early on in a project and it gets placed exactly as you envision. Iridescent and luminous, this Richard Royal sculpture brings bold color, artistry, and fragmented light into this dining space at our “Lakeside Serenity” project on Lake Sammamish.
