🍓🐭 Already smitten 🤩

I started this precious Strawberry Mouse Pincushion by Sarah at , and I am already completely smitten.

So far, all I have is the strawberry top stitched, but even at this stage I can tell this little sweetheart is going to be adorable. The finished pincushion is going to be so tiny, which somehow makes me love it even more.

There is just something about miniature stitching projects. Tiny stitches, tiny details, and a tiny finish that brings a huge amount of joy. 💞🍓🐭❤️

Now excuse me while I keep adding a few more stitches and watch this little strawberry mouse come to life one thread at a time.

🐸 Well, I was feeling pretty sassy over here 🫪

I’m about 90% finished with this piece and had somehow managed to avoid a major visit from the frog. I was starting to think I might actually make it through this project without having to rip out much stitching at all.

Then the frog showed up to humble me.

I realized I had stitched an entire section in the wrong color and spent several hours carefully picking out one-over-one stitches. If you know, you know. There are few things in stitching that test your patience quite like frogging tiny stitches one thread at a time.

The good news is it’s fixed, the project is back on track, and hopefully no one will ever know where my little stitching detour happened.

Well… except all of Instagram now. 😂🐸🪡

Tell me I’m not the only one. What’s the worst frogging session you’ve ever had?

🤦🏼‍♀️💔🐸

Apparently it’s June, which means we’re all supposed to be stitching strawberries. 🍓😅🤭

I have absolutely no idea who started this tradition, but honestly… I’m happy to participate.

After digging through my stash, I’ve decided the two strawberry projects I’ll be working on are Berry Mouse by Sarah - The Stitchery Sisters and Pip and Her Cottage Sewing Book by Stacy Nash. Both have been calling my name, and June seems like the perfect excuse to finally spend some quality time with them.

I’m stitching both of these from stash, which means I’ll be doing floss conversions for each project using what I already have on hand. There’s something so satisfying about shopping your own stash and giving those threads a chance to shine.

For fabric, I chose Lori Holt Vintage Cloth 25-count evenweave in the color Parchment. It felt like the perfect soft, vintage-inspired backdrop for these sweet strawberry designs. 🍓

To make things even more fun, I’ve recently put together a strawberry-themed stitch box for myself, made the cutest little strawberry bag charm, and I was gifted an adorable strawberry fob by Kristi Heinz during a swap.

Are you participating in stitching strawberry themed projects this month? I’d love to know what strawberry-themed projects are on your needle right now!

Sometimes the hardest seasons become the places where God teaches us the most. These are a few things He’s been showing me lately as I learn, once again, to stop striving and sit at His feet.

I’d love to hear from you. What has God been teaching you in this season of life?

🍅✨ Sneak peeks of the pretty things I’ve been creating behind the scenes…

I’ve been working on several new scissor fob and bag charm designs and I’m so excited to finally share a little glimpse of what’s coming soon.

The first design is this vintage inspired tomato pincushion charm. I hand dyed the seam binding myself to give it that soft aged look like something tucked away in an old sewing basket. We are still working out a few little kinks on this design, but I already love the direction it’s taking. ❤️🧵

I also redesigned my Chicken on a Nest charm and added customizable bead names! These can be personalized with:✨ your name✨ WIP✨ TIME OUT✨ SAMPLER✨ guild names✨ stitch group names✨ retreat gifts✨ a stitching friend’s name & more

I’ll also be releasing some larger customized designs soon featuring stitching themed words + customization fobs & bag charms.

I have a huge supply order coming in soon and my brain is already overflowing with ideas for upcoming releases. Thank y’all for following along and supporting these little handmade creations while they come to life. 🍅✨
If you have followed me very long you know that I like making pretty things and it brings my heart so much joy when you love the things that I design 🫶🏻💞🪡

I am getting set up for an upcoming project that I cannot wait to share with y’all. 🪡✨

Here in the fiber arts community, so many of us are in our “Grandma Hobbies Era,” and with that comes all the little crossover hobbies too. From cross stitch to embroidery, embroidery to needlepoint, needlepoint to knitting, knitting to crochet… somehow one creative hobby always leads to another.

I think after years of endless scrolling on our phones, many of us have realized how empty it can leave us feeling. We were designed to create beautiful things with our hands. Some may be better at cross stitch, while others may shine in quilting, knitting, or embroidery — but one thing I’ve noticed is this: when we are creating, our hearts are happy 🥹💞🪡

There’s something so comforting about slowing down. Sitting quietly with our thoughts. Not feeling the pressure to constantly perform or rush. Some of y’all stitch while watching FlossTube, some listen to audiobooks, and some enjoy the peaceful silence while they create. No matter what kind of stitcher you are, I hope you’re finding joy and contentment in the creativity of these hobbies.

This year I’ve really wanted to branch out creatively. I’ve tried knitting, punch needle, and now I’m diving deeper into embroidery — and I’m so excited to be collaborating with Clever Poppy on this beautiful apron project. 🌿

One thing I absolutely love about Clever Poppy is that they include tutorials for every stitch, making it approachable and not so intimidating even if you’re brand new to embroidery. Step-by-step, we’re going to learn and stitch this project together this week.

If you’ve never heard of Clever Poppy, go check them out here on Instagram and on their website:
www.cleverpoppy.com

I can’t wait to share more of this project with y’all soon. 🪩💃🏼

Tomorrow wraps up the final day of Market Mania hosted by 🪡💞

I honestly thought I would have had more stitching time this month than I have, but I’m still so happy I participated. I’ve had one finish, and I’ve finally gotten Reynard’s overalls outlined and started filling them in with the soft light blue. Progress is progress, and I’ll gladly take it. 😉🦊

REYNARD is the sweetest little fox animal cracker in the British series designed by Stacy Nash, and I absolutely adore him. I cannot wait to stitch his satchel because mine is definitely getting tiny tools tucked inside. 🦊🪚🔨

This has been such a fun event, and I want to say a heartfelt Thank You” to the lovely host for bringing all of us stitchers together for Market Mania. It’s been such a joy seeing everyone’s projects, progress, and excitement this month 👏🏻💞

Today I’m giving myself permission to sit and cross stitch for a little while. 🪡

I’ve had Reynard kitted up for quite some time and I really need to see progress on something I’m working on… so away we go!

I made a very simple little key fob with a hammer, crescent wrench, and a couple different saws. I cannot wait to finish his tool bag and tuck all of his tiny tools inside. 🧰

I’m stitching completely from stash for this one and pulled floss I already had on hand. I’m still not totally sure about the colors yet, but we’ll see if they work out 😅

Tomato girl summer… but make it stitched. 🍅

There’s just something about tiny tomatoes, worn wood tones, antique treasures, and the glow of lamplight that feels like home to me lately. These little tomato pin cushions have completely stolen my heart. Each one brings me so much joy 😍🍅

Hand stitching has a way of slowing life down in the sweetest way. A cup of coffee nearby, soft music or an audiobook playing, thread through fabric, and a basket full of little finishes waiting to be admired… it’s the simple things.

I think every sewing room deserves a few tomatoes scattered around ( that’s just my opinion) ❤️🍅

Tomato Girl Summer 🍅

My garden is growing,
my stitches are too,
tiny red tomatoes
worked in every hue.

Tomato pin cushions
lined up on my shelf,
little stitched treasures
that feel just like myself.

Scissor fobs swinging
from every pair I own,
little tomato treasures
my favorite ones I’ve known.

Fresh picked from the garden,
still warm from the sun,
salt, pepper, and mayo…
simple things are the fun.

Give me gingham and baskets,
vines climbing high,
needle and thread
with July in the sky.

Some girls chase diamonds,
or beaches afar,
but this Tomato Girl Summer
is exactly who we are. 🍅😉😊
