This was my first time to weave with 100% h**p yarn. I tried some recommended modifications while warping my rigid heddle, but I was not able to get the tension tight enough. Thankfully, that won’t be an issue when weaving with h**p on my Glimakra Standard.
I love how the wash cloths turned out! They were super stiff before wet finishing, but were much softer and had a nice drape afterwards. Stay tuned for a before and after video showing the differences!

I had fun using Fibonacci numbers to design the stripes for this set of towels. And I’m loving the simplicity and elegance of black and white 🖤🤍

Last month I finally finished War and Peace. It took me a couple of years, as I would set it aside at times while I read other books. I’m afraid the book itself ended up a little battle worn 🙃 If you are thinking of tackling this tome, I highly recommend listening to the CenterForLit podcast, How to Eat an Elephant. How to Eat an Elephant Discussion Group

Here’s an excerpt from my newsletter that includes a short summary of my thoughts on this classic:

Beauty in Words - What I'm Reading 📚
I (finally) finished reading Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace - all 1125 pages. His writing skills are genius. Whether it's a battle field, a soiree, or a description of a character, his ability to paint a vivid, intimate picture is unlike anyone I've ever read. And his brutal sarcasm is so much fun. I enjoyed it thoroughly, but I much preferred the narrative sections to the philosophical ones. I think that is why I like Anna Karenina better, as it is all beautiful story with no deep dives into philosophical essays.

Weaving Beauty into the Everday, is not just my tagline - it’s the foundation of my business and a practice I try to implement daily. In each newsletter I share a way that I’m personally adding beauty into my everyday in hopes that you’ll be inspired to look for ways to enjoy beauty in your own day. I’d love for you to join my newsletter! You can find a link to sign up at the top of FB homepage.
