🪦 Jolene's Corner 🪦

Jolene is unique to say the least, but there are some pieces that are beyond the unique. The photo on the left shows the fan that is in the bottom portion of the center divider that divides Jolene's drivers compartment from the casket area. Why is there a fan there. ? I wonder if it was to aid in ventilating the area ? These cars did not have air conditioning only a vent system so maybe it was used to have move air through the back compartment, anyone have an ideas ? Let us know.

🪦 A Minute with the Mortician 🪦

Cremation is gaining popularity in the US and other countries. Most people do not realize that theres been cremations going on in the U.S. since 1876. The first crematory was built in Washington, Pennsylvania. The crematory was built by Dr. Francis Julius LeMoyne, a physician and philanthropist and was named after him. Le Moyne crematory completed its first cremation on December 6, 1876 for the body of Baron de Palm. Dr LeMoyne promoted cremation as a sanitary practice to stop bodies from contaminating local drinking water and spreading disease.
