We had a lot of fun playing with texture in this bedroom. The upholstered bed, pale oak nightstand, glass lamp, layered bedding, and artwork all live in a similar palette, but each brings something different to the room. Calm, yes. Boring, absolutely not.

Dark and moody, but still the kind of room everyone wants to hang out in.

We mixed an oversized black sectional with warm leather, dark stone, exposed beams, and the starburst fixture overhead. The family’s art collection brings in the color and keeps the whole thing from feeling too serious.

It’s layered, a little unexpected, and most importantly, comfortable enough for everyone to pile onto the sofa.
