It’s finally starting to feel like fall in Southern California. Naturally, we’re thinking about summer.
Because if you’re hoping to enjoy a beautifully designed backyard next year, there’s quite a lot that needs to happen before the first dinner party.
Outdoor living projects involve more than selecting beautiful furniture and deciding where the margaritas will be served.
There’s space planning, pool design, construction drawings, engineering, permits, inspections, lead times for outdoor kitchen appliances, stone and material, furniture, and landscaping that needs time to establish.
And depending on the scope of the project, some of those steps can take months. Especially when pools, structural changes, or significant site work are involved.
It’s not particularly glamorous. But getting those decisions made early is what gives the finished space a fighting chance of being ready when you want to use it.
So yes, we’re talking about summer while everyone else is buying pumpkins.
Someone has to think ahead.
If an outdoor renovation is on your list for next year, now is a good time to start the conversation.
