So a late night road trip to the central coast for an estate sale turned out to be one of the best 3 days on the road we have done. From the biggest & best sale I ever could dream of, in sometimes torrential rain on a ginormous property of homes & barns to a few extra days perusing all my favorite haunts from Cayucos & Cambria to Paso & Arroyo Grande and everywhere in between while getting some family time in with our oldest kiddo in SLO. The Sequoia is packed to the hilt and it is going to take a few days to process my last big road trip of the season, but I am going to premiere it all here broken down by the amazing sale & shops we hit with a few different loot shoots because there is just too much to pull in to one. Today is a mini shoot of goods from a never miss locale in Pismo Beach, where my husband must always clear the shelves of fishing lures and I seem to run across the sweetest treasures. There was no way I was leaving the huge signed & hand painted lidded turkey baker behind- it’s a 1985 pottery piece perfect for serving sides at Thanksgiving. The big 1930’s SS Fuhrmann’s Dairy thermometer from Wisconsin (Hello Cheeseheads!) is rusty & crusty and oh so good. A wonderful old green solid handled birds eye maple rolling pin, and such a good hand carved long handle spoon… But hands down the huge roll top bread tin is my favorite- from the original porcelain k**b to the gorgeous gold black & cream litho paint and side swing handles, it is EVERYTHING!
