Saying goodbye to this gorgeous 1800’s buggy seat from a very fine old wagon, along with SO many more fabulous new pieces I just brought in… I just got the showroom ready for Father’s Day and the 4th, now shelves are empty and furniture is gone… But I am thrilled it is all headed home with a couple of collectors who both have such fun plans for it all. I guess the showroom is getting another total makeover next week, and I am fine with that. I already have a truckload of new goods ready in storage, and I get to hit the road and go shopping again! So what kind of vintage treasures can I curate for you?

The three old antique mashers from the private presale we did last month were just added to the Etsy shop. They are some of the most nicely detailed I have found, and each is so distinctive… One has an extra long fancily turned handle. Another has lighter wood with the best dark staining on all the top surfaces. But the oldest, darkest hand honed one has my heart- the pitting and grain cracks across the face, the deep darkness of the wood, and the oxidation that makes the details pop is pure rustic primitive beauty. They would make a perfect collection all together. Memorial weekend treasure hunting did not disappoint, so a little loot shoot of some of the finds is definitely in order. I have a few favorites, including the repaired grainery scoop with the hand carved details, the milk glass & wood rolling pin, and the gorgeous old croquet set. But I am just completely obsessed with the antique French cast iron toddler bed. The corner finials and swirling hearts on either side are perfection in the chippy white paint remnants. And the antique French gathering backpack basket is to die for… French goods simply have my heart… And there’s so much more to come!

So much honor and respect to all who have given us our freedom and liberty. Today we celebrate the commitment of our military personnel who chose to give their all, and all those that choose to serve our country. From my husband and my sister, to my father, father-in-laws, grandfathers and those before them, I thank each and every one of you!
