🇺🇸 Created Equal
This one's close to my heart. I wasn't planning on doing another patriotic design, but I kept coming back to those opening words of the Declaration of Independence. Adopted July 4, 1776, it laid out the idea that all people are created equal and entitled to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, a founding statement of American identity that's still quoted 250 years later.
Inspired by my love of quilting, I based the star on the Lone Star quilt pattern (also called Star of Bethlehem), with radiating diamond strips built out in rings of red, white, and blue. Paired with eagles and the Declaration's own words, it felt like the right way to tie the quilting tradition to the text that started it all.
