Phase 2 of the Hoover High - San Diego Unified Whole Site Modernization is nearly complete!

This historic 1930s campus in San Diego is being thoughtfully restored and upgraded with modern infrastructure, enhanced walkways, refreshed finishes, and the return of its iconic tower.

Phase 2 builds on our earlier work, including a new 500-seat theater and multipurpose building that honors the original architecture.

AVRP Studios is proud to have led the award-winning design of Congregation Beth Israel, featured in "Sacred Architecture of San Diego/Tijuana" by Rev. Dr. Mark Hargreaves. Inspired by Jerusalem, the synagogue’s design connects history, faith, and community. Its masonry echoes Jerusalem stone, while its dome, arches, and biblical garden evoke deep tradition.

We were thrilled to attend the groundbreaking with our partners at BRIDGE Housing and VCC Construction for Kindred II, a new affordable housing model that will bring multigenerational homes to the Cortez Hill neighborhood of San Diego. The eight-story development includes 62 apartments for individuals and family households, 63 permanent supportive apartments for formerly homeless seniors, and 4,400 square feet of commercial space with supportive services provided by San Ysidro Health. https://tinyurl.com/5ecsdm2d

An SDHC collaborative development that celebrated its groundbreaking today will transform the former site of the County of San Diego Family Court in Cortez Hill into 125 affordable rental apartments for families with low income and seniors who experienced homelessness. Congratulations to BRIDGE Housing on reaching this development milestone. Thank you to all the organizations working together to make this new development possible. SDHC awarded a loan and housing vouchers to support this project. We look forward to Kindred Apartments becoming an affordable, intergenerational development that will help our San Diego community thrive.

The custom Nexus House is nestled on a unique, elongated, keyhole-shaped site with expansive canyon views. Its trellised entry walkway guides visitors forward, and its layout consists of connected sleeping areas on one side and a privacy wall on the other. https://tinyurl.com/29np9c8b

🚧 Poway Paseo Update 🚧

Progress is in full swing for our mixed-use Poway Paseo project in Poway, California! The garage podium deck is set at the ground floor, while Building C, a three-story structure featuring four live-work units and two townhomes, is continuing to take shape. Forms are also up for the concrete columns leading to the second-floor slab of Buildings A & B, which will offer commercial spaces at the ground level and residential flats and townhomes on the upper floors.
