In early March, staff attended the 2025 fundraising gala for Don’t MiND Me, a non-profit mental health foundation that is raising funds to acquire the old Desert Sun Newspaper building in Palm Springs, CA. The building will undergo extensive renovations for the creation of the Don’t MiND Me: Mental Health Center Coachella (MHCC). This new center will be an all-inclusive sprawling campus with a holistic, long-term approach to all levels of mental health care, substance abuse recovery and long-term wellness.
HHDA provided the proposed designs for the future Don’t MiND Me site, including the exterior branding, landscape/site planning, exterior amenities and the design for the new ground-up structures offering diverse treatments. The interior upgrades will transform the old newspaper building into a warm, welcoming, and supportive healing environment. The facility will feature men, women and non-binary dorms, wellness focused areas including a light filled atrium, an entry Zen-garden, indoor gym, exterior pool and patio area, large dining hall, and many more amenities and instructional areas that foster recovery.
