What is maximalist design?

Maximalism, while being completely opposite of the minimalist style, isn't necessarily about adding clutter. Maximalism is about utilizing your space in the boldest way possible. It can be summarized as "more is more", contrasting with the minimalist motto "less is more".

The maximalist design encourages bold colors, patterns, and creativity.

Some argue that maximalism is a reaction against minimalism. It is an aesthetic of excess.

4 cool ways to decorate with a table runner

Long & Length Wise

You've definitely seen this one. This is the traditional way of placing table runners. Spanning from one end of the table to the other. Leaving about 12 inches of overhang on either side.

Short & Width Wise

Place multiple, really short table runners width-wise for each seating. This is a trendy way of placing it. Skip the placemats!

The X Pattern

Place matching table runners in an "X" shape. Works well for circular tables. Creates a center stage for your dining centerpiece.

Flush with the wall

If your dining table is flush against the wall lengthwise, try placing the table runner flush with the wall. Going to look unique AF.

Wicker Vs. Rattan. Vs. Bamboo Vs. Cane

What's the difference?

Wicker:
Wicker is a popular term that actually refers to a style of weave. The wicker technique dates back to ancient times. Natural Wicker is typically seen as Cane, Rattan, or Bamboo. Synthetic Wickers are commonly used for outdoor patios.

Bamboo:
Bamboo is the poster child of eco-friendly furniture options.😎 Extremely fast-growing, durable, and lightweight. Releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than comparable hardwood trees.

Rattan:
One of the fastest-growing natural materials regenerating every 5-7 years. Although similar to bamboo, they are not the same. Rattan offers a level of flexibility that Bamboo cannot.

Cane:
Most delicate of the materials, cane is actually a part of the rattan plant. They can repel liquids, thus making it a great furniture material. For this reason, it is seen on many chair designs. Cane can be treated, painted, or left in its natural state. It is considerably cheaper than hardwoods plastics and metals.
